BYU 14, OU 13 Cougars pull upset as Bradford, Gresham Watch

ARLINGTON, Texas — With Heisman quarterback Sam Bradford and All-America tight end Jermaine Gresham back for another year, Oklahoma’s season began with aspirations of winning an eighth national title.


Saturday night, those dreams were all but dashed as Bradford and Gresham watched Brigham Young stun the third-ranked Sooners 14-13 at Cowboys Stadium from the sidelines.

Bradford injured his throwing shoulder late in the second quarter when he was plowed into the ground by linebacker Coleby Clawson.
Bradford was diagnosed with a shoulder separation. He missed the rest of the game, and could be out much longer, depending on the severity of the sprain.

Coach Bob Stoops said after the game he won’t know the seriousness of the injury until MRI results come back on Bradford’s shoulder either today or Monday. Gresham, who was injured earlier in the week, missed the game due to cartilage damage in his knee. Stoops said he’s unsure how long Gresham will be held out.

The offensive line stunk up the joint last night. I know 4 of them are rookies, but they just weren't prepared for the game. And just like the Championship game against Florida last year, the play calling at the goal line from the coaches was horrible. Not to mention the decision to send out his freshman punter to kick a 54 yard field goal for the win. I guess considering how the offensive line was playing, he had no choice. But no worries for Stoops. These folks around here will give him another 3 million dollar raise at the end of the year, like they do every year.

It was a 54 yarder. Top NFL kickers have a tough time with that kick, especially if the game is on the line. They said Bradford had an AC joint sprain, no one knows for certain how bad the injury is or how long he will be sidelined.

Haha I don't really care I was just mentioning it. Either way it was too far of a field goal.

Especially for a rookie punter. I know he was kicking field goals before the game from the 50 yard line, but that's not with a determined BYU team barreling in on him and the whole game on the line.
