Paul Thompson will start at QB for the banished Rhett Bomar, and while UAB shouldn't pose much of a problem in this one, it will be interesting to see how Thompson does in his first game under center since 2004. What will the Sooners offense look like? Anyone care to guess?

UAB up 17-14 late in the 3rd quarter. Things not looking so good in Sooner land.

Watson Bronw's a good coach & always has his team ready to play. The Vols have played UAB a number of times and it's never an easy game.

So how much help do you think brother Mack was on this game?

Forget Bomar. Sure, Thompson's thrown a couple of picks, but where is that once-vaunted Sooner defense? Even if Oklahoma somehow manages to pull this one out - and if they do, I bet it'll be all due to Peterson, who's been amazing - this is gonna be one long season for Bob Stoops' club.

They started the same way last year. They do have a very tough game with Oregon coming up. I am willing to bet Stoops gets them playing well. They may not be BCS material, but they will figure it out.
