| 2008 Predictions After looking over the games, I see us going potentially going 11-1, at USC is going to be interesting because USC's offense is loaded at WR, solid RB who can get outside and burn you, but their QB is suspect to interpretation. I really think the game will come down to how much pressure OSU is willing to put on Sanchez. I say blitz blitz and blitz but who knows. Also, its up to the players to have their heads in the right place and play 110% all game long.
At Wisconsin is going to be very tough, UW seems to own Tressel and no matter how the talent per team weighs in, it's in Madison at night and that place is tough to win at. PJ Hill should be better and we struggled at home last year so we shall see.
At Illinois...well, we all saw what Juice has done to us the last two seasons and they nearly pulled off a stunner in '06 with a lesser team. I think we outmatch them in every position but we have to somehow figure out the interior part of the D-line if we plan on winning this one.
With those three gauntlet games, along with Michigan (who cares how bad they may seem, its still Michigan), I just dont see OSU going 12-0. I think they will drop atleast one (probably at USC), and with the general feeling of annoyance involved with OSU from the national media, that would be enough to kick us out of the title picture.
Keys to 12-0: Pressure, Pressure, Pressure! Open up the offense and establish a deep threat passing attack as well as a nifty running game. GET BEANIE THE BALL, the kid can get you 5 per touch just by running into someone and pushing them back. Stay healthy (of course). Keeping heads in right place, they havent earned anything yet. Getting Pryor, Lamaar Thomas the ball, these kids are great at what they do best--burning defenses with their legs. If we can accomplish these in my opinion, which can easily be done with coaching and player prep, then the sky may not be enough to hold down the potential of this team.
