| Ohio State self reports NCAA violation after Tressel took players to Final Four Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel wanted to reward two of his players for being named Academic All-Americans. Unfortunately for Tressel, his actions resulted in reporting a secondary violation to the NCAA, according to a published report. Receiver Anthony Gonzalez and fullback Stan White Jr. joined Tressel on a private jet to see the Buckeyes' men's basketball team play in the Final Four earlier this year, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported. | Re: Ohio State self reports NCAA violation after Tressel took players to Final Four Some violations are big deals. Others aren't. This shouldn't be a big deal, IMO. Doing something nice for your players because they've worked their tails off for you, that's something I'd really like to see the NCAA allow more of. No cash payments, nothing too exorbitant, but taking the kids to see a basketball game sees OK to me.
