Anyone else surprised that Buckeyes coach Thad Matta didn't get more Coach of the Year attention? With all of the controversy surrounding the last coaching regime and the fallout from the NCAA investigation, he still managed to take this squad to a 26-6 record and a Big Ten title. True, they were upset in the 2nd round of the NCAAs. But this was still a masterful coaching job, don't you think?

They might be postponing his accolades just one year. As long as Pearl, Matta or Williams received coach of the year honors, it is hard to say none of them deserved it.

I agree. Matta did a great job, but like you mentioned they exited the tourney a bit early..maybe he will get his crack next year.
