Now, I know you're all excited about how well the b-ball team's playing, Buckeye fans, but I can't help but wonder what the Ohio State football team is going to do defensively. On offense, their loaded, but on D they're losing a lot of talent in A.J. Hawk, Bobby Carpenter and Ashton Youboty, among others.

So who's going to be the guy to step up and lead the defensive unit in 2006? Mike D'Andrea, perhaps?

There is an obscene amount of defensive players waiting to step in and carry this team by the horns. D'Andrea is one, Malcom Jenkins, Marcus Freeman, Trevor Robinson, Brandon Underwood, Donald Washington among several others. All of these guys were top 100 recruits at the very least and as an OSU fan, one thing you never have to concern yourself with is whether or not Tressel will produce a solid defense. Thats why it is so encouraging to have so many players returning on the offensive side of the ball, because it is generally where OSU is lacking under Tressel. Of course the defense won't be as dominant as it was last year, but it will be hard-hitting and fast like it always is.
