| Troy Smith Player of the Week OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Troy Smith, OHIO STATE Senior, Quarterback, Glenville, OH Senior quarterback Troy Smith completed 29-of-41 passes for 316 yards and four touchdowns as top-ranked Ohio State defeated second-ranked Michigan, 42-39, to secure its first outright Big Ten title since 1984 and a berth in the BCS Championship Game on January 8. Smith threw scoring passes of 1, 39, 8, and 13 yards as the Buckeyes (12-0, 8-0 in Big Ten) won their third straight against the Wolverines. | Re: Troy Smith Player of the Week No surprise here, really. Smith 300+ yards and 4 scores against a highly touted Michigan defense, wrapping up a BCS bid for his team and most likely the Heisman Trophy for himself. Definitely had the best offensive performance in the NCAA last weekend, right? |
