Raiders bring in Garcia with one-year deal

OAKLAND, Calif. -- After a four-team, five-season odyssey since leaving the San Francisco 49ers, Jeff Garcia finally found his way back home to the Bay Area -- albeit on the other side from where he started.

The four-time Pro Bowl quarterback joined the Oakland Raiders on Monday, with the 39-year-old passer agreeing to a one-year deal to be JaMarcus Russell's backup.

Re: Raiders bring in Garcia with one-year deal

"Backup", forget that, they should just let him be the starting QB and throw J.R. a bone and sit his butt down.

Let Jeff Garcia have complete control of the offense, forget Tom the cable guy and Offensive coordinator calling up and deciding what play to use for the offense.

If Al Davis still have any Brains left in him, he should let Garcia run that offense.

I agree. Give Garcia the keys and see how he drives the offense. Russell clearly has not done a great job in getting the Raiders to win.
