Well, that didn't take long -- Raiders wide receiver Jerry Porter is already clashing with new head coach Art Shell and has demanded a trade. According to media reports, he was a no show at practice today as well. So, will he get his deal, or is his talent eclipsed by his lousy attitude?

If I were running the team I would tell Mr. Porter not to let the door hit you on the way out.

If this doesn't work out, hopefully the Raiders will get rid of this 'poor mans version of TO' and get something decent from it.

Of course, things could possibly work out and JP could get on board, but this is unlikely since JP does not like coaches who are tough on hardwork, discipline and attitude. JP had issues with Gruden when he first got drafted.

The funny thing is that Porter developed because of Gruden getting on him about the fundamentals of hardwork and discipline. It is too bad that he cannot see the benefits of this.

Exactly. It's always the guys like Porter, the ones who benefit most from having a coach riding their asses and whipping them into shape, who whine and cry about it the most. Shell's exactly the kind of coach JP needs to get his career back on track, and as you say, its a pity he doesn't see that.
