Re: Moss wanted to be a Falcon

Moss said Falcons owner Arthur Blank told him that Atlanta did not want him to come, according to the interview that aired Thursday morning on "Mayhem in the A.M." on 790 The Zone in Atlanta.

"I want to tell every Atlanta Falcon and football fan that's listening to this what happened. When I was getting traded from Minnesota I wanted to come and play for either the Atlanta Falcons or the Baltimore Ravens," Moss said. "I wanted to play with Atlanta just for the fact of Michael Vick's elusiveness, and I wanted to play with a guy such as Ray Lewis because he's on defense and I'm on offense."

"So I did have dreams and high hopes of being traded to the Atlanta Falcons but the president and owner of the Atlanta Falcons (Arthur Blank) told me specifically that he does not want me in Atlanta, there's nothing that I can do to Atlanta and he wished me the best of luck. He did not think that Randy Moss would be a good fit in Atlanta."
Moss then wrapped up his comments on the situation in Atlanta: "Basically it was the president and owner of the team saying there is no cold chance in hell I'll be playing for the Atlanta Falcons. So I took the Atlanta Falcons off my list and tried to go elsewhere."

Why in the world is this Space cadet talking about this now?...His only concern should be getting ready for the Raiders upcoming season and clicking with Aaron Brooks.

So, uh, Randy... how is it going to sit with Al Davis and your teammates that the Raiders WEREN'T one of the two teams that you said you "wanted to come and play for" when you were being traded? Maybe this has something to do with his subpar season last year, hmmm? Maybe he's jealous of T.O. hogging all of the negative press attention.

Re: Moss wanted to be a Falcon

Would you want Randy Moss on your team if youre a head coach, even if your one of the teams he wants to play for at the moment. Vick is elusive yes but his throwing skills are more elusive and the Ravens have a mess as a QB situation so I think hed be happy with his nice new jersey but miserable when he wasnt being thrown at because of the poor QBs of the Raven and Falcons. Man hes getting to be more like Owens every day!

Re: Moss wanted to be a Falcon

Hmmm...

I think the media is taking this waaaaayyyy out of context. So what if Randy's first choice back then was with Atlanta or Baltimore? Does that really have a bearing on how he's going to produce in Oakland?

I think this happens more often with receivers than naught so I don't think it is such a big issue.

And for a guy who got hurt last year, his numbers were not astounding. However he still caught 7 TD's and still had over 1000 receiving yards inspite of the fact that he was injured.

Nuff.

Re: Moss wanted to be a Falcon

I guess it all depends how much value you put on team chemestry, Thundrwagn. Certainly his teammates and the Raider brass won't be thrilled to know that he really didn't want to play for/with them; that at best they were #3 on his list. Now, if he starts to play like the Randy of old? It'll be water under the bridge by week 2. And whether or not it will wind up affecting his game, why say it? Nothing positive can come from it.
