I know we discussed this a bit when the Raiders drafted Michael Huff out of Texas, but the issue's coming up again with the preseason getting closer and closer. Where should the talented ex-Longhorn defensive back play, corner or safety? The author of the above story seems to think he'll wind up starting at SS in 2006. I tend to agree. What do you think?

I do not know what Shell has planned. However, if I were to go with tradition, I guess I'd play him at Safety.

Well, it would be a waste to take him in the 1st round and not try him out at the corner slot. If they wanted a Safety they would have waited much further than the 7th pick is my guess.

That may be so, however, the Raiders are suspect at safety. They had Stuart Schweigart who improved last year and Derrick Gibson who has not turned out to be the safety they had hoped for. Before that, they had Ray Buchanan (who was supposed to be Big Play Ray) and C-Wood moving around from CB to safety. The safety position has a hole, so why not start Huff safety?

The CB's have another year under their belt and I think they will be improved this year.
