Re: Five players the Raiders can't do without

Every team has a handful of guys they can't hope to win without - it's just a simple truth in the NFL. According to the author of this article, the five guys most important to the Oakland Raiders are: 1. Lamont Jordan, 2. Robert Gallery, 3. Randy Moss, 4. Derrick Burgess and 5. Kirk Morrison. Do you guys agree with his choices? What about Aaron Brooks, or Michael Huff, or Warren Sapp?

I disagree, particularly about Gallery. Moss is always hurt now anyway so hes not first on that list anyway.

Gallery the 2nd pick overall in 2004, plays out of position. Where he back in his natural position maybe. He had a promising 2004, but on that line he did not have a major improvement in 2005. Moss is in the TO class range...a once a decade type of receiver...harder to relace overall.

The Vikes were right in getting rid of Moss. He only plays when he feels like it and nowadays hes injury prone and nearing the bit 3-0. That leads one to conclude that Mr. Moss rarely plays and if he does its a crapshoot if your getting top effort from him. A player like that is easily and maybe imminently replacable!

now, now my dark side loving friend...Moss has missed all of three games in his career and has put up 98 TD's in 8 seasons...people who average 12 TDs a season from the receiver slot don't grow on trees...

All those averages you posted seem impressive but only because his PAST numbers are boosting them up. Raider Randy has all the wide reciever skills of Bobby Engram or Jabbar Gaffney. Good, but hes not gonna scare defenses. At least not anymore.

you keep using that word "Injured Prone"...and the man has missed three games in eight years...it doesn't fit...and come now...Engram and Gaffney?...are you just trying your darnest to make me laugh?... last I looked, the team with the highest score wins, and Randy is a top tier receiver when it comes to scoring...and at 29 he happens to be in his prime...not over the hill...If Brooks can get him the ball, Randy will be key to the Raiders offense....

Engram and Gaffney...LOL...your girlfriend didn't pressure you into that answer now did she?...jsut asking man...

Re: Five players the Raiders can't do without

Put it like this...the 1997-2003 Randy Moss was a talent above all talents. That is no longer the case. Yes he missed 3 games but he is injury prone and with those injuries while playing he becomes easily coverable. Now hes playing injured and he cant do well so thats double bad cuz even when he IS well he is constantly not trying unless 80% of the plays are directed at him. No, Randy's time is done. What his best course of action would be is to dress up in womens lingere and dance to ABBA's "Dancing Queen" on the 50 yard line to entertain the Raider Nation. I bet Al Davis wouldnt mind!

See that's what I like about you trashed...passionate commitment to a lost cause...kinda like going with the Count Dooku Avatar...my man Moss is still an unbeleiveable talent...just against the Gaints who he torched for +100 yards and 2 TD during the last game of the season...for someone running at 80% speed and deemed coverable...they sure missed covering him...

But, hey, I like you any way...and stop bashing ABBA...I got a few of their CD's man...

lets change the lyrics to the song a bit to make it more meaning ful:

Sunday night and the lights are low
Looking out for an offensive show
Where they call the right pass play, to the guy with the bling
Just call Randy Moss the king
No one can cover that guy

Night is young and the pass is high
While grooving to the music, he'll make the catch every time
And in the end zone he'll dance
when you he gets the chance...

He is the Touchdown King, this year he'll score more than seventeen
Touchdown King, just watch him primp and preen,

He can dance, He can jive, having the time of his life
See that guy, watch that scene, dig the Touchdown King
