| John Madden talks about Davis John Madden recently talked to Adam Schein of "the Sirius Blitz" and gave his opinions on the situation in Oakland. Madden said that Davis had the press conference to announce the coaching change and to get some things straight that he had been quiet about for a while. Madden said it was different when he was coach there. The Staff was smaller and communications between everyone and Davis were clear. Madden thinks the situation can be repaired because Davis wants to win and he's not afraid to spend the money to get the players he wants. And therein lies the rub says Profootball. The game has change a lot. These days coaches are reluctant to defer to an owner when it comes to football and coaches want to do it their way. Davis is looking for coaches not on the A-List; that is, coaches who want to buy the groceries and not just stir the stew when they're told. And especially for what Davis pays his head coaches since some college programs pay as much or more as Davis. ProFootballTalk.com - JOHN MADDEN ON AL DAVIS
