The Oakland Raiders want to get the tight end position involved more in the offense, according to this story. It seems that the Raiders haven't had a tight end catch 40 or more passes since Rickey Dudley in 1997. Competing for the starting job are Courtney Anderson (24 catches for 303 yards last season), Randal Williams, Marcellus Rivers and O.J. Santiago. Which of these guys have the best chance of putting together a 40-catch season?

Yeah, I think so too, but only by default. I mean, none of them scream Pro Bowl tight end or anything. And O.J. Santiago? Cripes, wasn't he out of the league for like a year or two?

I wonder how this throwing to the tight end is going to affect Moss' numbers. Maybe not much but forget Porter's catches, this whole tight end thing could be looked at as a lack of faith in Porter.

Actually, Marcellus Rivers may be the sleeper of that group. He wasn't horrible and never got any kind of real playing time because of Shockey.

I think Anderson has the best hands but lacks blocking abililty and could be a bit faster with that into consideration.
