Free-agent signee Aaron Brooks was a coach killer in New Orleans, the moral equivilent of the departed Kerry Collins. Brooks has the talent, no question about it, but he fits the classic Raiders profile – raw talent, but poor execution. Brooks wasn’t a winner at Virginia in college and he was never a winner for the Saints. Why should that change here?


Randy Moss is about ready for a blowup, isn’t he? Oakland’s offensive line didn’t provide enough protection for Collins to look for Moss downfield last year, and the OL was not improved this offseason.

Harsh words for the Raiders in this article..Are the Raiders in trouble as he claims?...I never thought Brooks was the answer (though I like him)...I stil lthink they screwed up not taking Leinart or Cutler in the draft. We will see.

I'd rather have Collins than Brooks, myself. Collins, at least, has taken a team to the Super Bowl, so he knows how to win. I'm not high on the Raiders either. Their o-line isn't good, they don't have a true #1 NFL QB, and I don't even think the running backs are all that good. I can see 4-12 for them, maybe 6-10 if they're lucky.

Art Shell and his OL coaches will get the Offensive Line in place.

I believe Brooks will do better with the Raiders. If Shell can get a team whose QB was Jay Shroeder to the AFC Championship game in the early 90's, he can work with Aaron Brooks. The key is the OL. Can they run block and pass block better than the terrible job they did last year. I believe the OL is going to turn things around this year.

As for Moss, he will be fine. Especially with the way Art has been holding everyone accountable for the failures of the team last year.
