Re: Zack Crockett - RB or FB?

According to this article, Zack Crockett of the Oakland Raiders is currently listed as the second string running back, but may be switched to fullback to block for LaMont Jordan. Where would you play the 6-2, 240 pounder?

Re: Zack Crockett - RB or FB?

I'd put him as a full-back because he would get more time than a second-string running-back. LaMont Jordan played as a "second-stringer" here in the Meadowlands and accomplished nothing. At least, let Crockett get a few touches and some playing time.

Zach has never shown me enough to consider him a legit runner...I always thought of him as a fullback...at best he is a short yardage specialist where is 3.3 yard per carry and 36 touchdowns do him justice.

I would play him on the practice squad and go out and get a real blocking fullback.

Re: Zack Crockett - RB or FB?

Ah, but there are so few really good blocking fullbacks in the league. Why not try a throwback move, go to a fullback who actually carries the ball some? It worked in the past, maybe it'd work again today?

I am all for letting the fullback run...I just don't think Crockett has the talent...
