Re: Biletnikoff likes Raiders chances

Always good to have a guy like ex-Raiders wide receiver and current WR coach Fred Biletnikoff on your side, and two guys who certainly do, according to this article, are Art Shell and Randy Moss.

On Shell, Biletnikoff says "We needed somebody like Art back here... When Art walks into a room, he can be intimidating. He believes the (team) wants discipline and they want structure... He provides tough leadership." And when asked about Moss? "Randy's an excellent team player," Biletnikoff said. "He played a majority of the season last year injured. And he still made some great plays. That says a lot about his character."

He also had good things to say about Aaron Brooks and Michael Huff, and seems to like the team's overall chances in 2006.

Re: Biletnikoff likes Raiders chances

Nothing against Shell, I just never thought an O-lineman would make the best overall coach...Art's an okay guy, but give me the 5'8" guy cut from his high school team with a genius level IQ and a chip on his shoulder about belonging in the NFL...in some way, shape or form...

Which reminds me of how Mel Kipper got his gig...he started in his basement making a draft analysis and tried to get face time with coaches to take a look at his stuff...

Of course, I'd take Art over the goofy Kipper any day...
