So is the article right?...are the Raiders ready to be the sleeper team of 2006?...or is this team in disarray?

No, I can't see it. I'm still not crazy about their defense, though Huff will help, and they don't have a legitimate #1 quarterback on their roster. They're more likely a .500 team than a playoff team.

Legitimate number #1 QB on the roster? Gannon wasn't legitimate. He was a journeyman.

Stabler had to earn his way to number 1. Jim Plunkett was a shadow in twilight when they started him. Marc Wilson when they made the playoffs in 1985 was definitely not a legit #1 QB.... Jay Shroeder in 1990??? Ya gotta be kiddin' me. Finally there was Jeff Hostetler. I'll say he was legit. I think that in order for Brooks, Tui or Walter to be legit, it depends on the OL.

I'll be perfectly happy if they make 8-8 because that is progress. We'll have to wait and see though. However, if they do hit on all cylinders on offense and defense, the Broncos, Chiefs and Chargers are going to have their hands full.
