| Ray Guy snubbed by Hall of Fame Once again, the best punter in the history of the game, Ray Guy, was snubbed by the Hall of Fame. Your thoughts? Green, Monk, Dean, Tippett, Zimmerman, Emmitt Thomas elected to Hall of Fame - NFL - Yahoo! Sports |

| Re: Ray Guy snubbed by Hall of Fame Get rid of the position if there is no way to give it any recognition...I mean the Hall is basically saying..."Hey we do not acknowledge punters or kicker as really being part of the game."... Tell me that the best punter in the game doesn't merit it more than say the 25 best receiver in the game etc...cause I tell ya, Monk doesn't even make my top 25 list.

| Re: Ray Guy snubbed by Hall of Fame I thought, especially in Guy's case, that he was a football player that also punted...the man could play DB...and even throw the ball as I recall. So basically for the Hall, Punters are not football players...which begs the question, "What are they then?" |

| Re: Ray Guy snubbed by Hall of Fame Folks, I always say the name of the game is FOOTball! The kicking is as important, if not more so, than any aspect of the game. Guy should have been in the second he was eligible, and I'm starting to think a guy like Feagles should be there, as important as he is to his team with his record number of kicks inside the 20. The coaches and players know how vital field position is, as was evidenced yesterday. Gotham, Monk was prolific but you are right. His name shouldn't even come up when talking about the sport's best. It would be the equivalent of putting Paul O'Neill in Cooperstown.
