Is Davis the reason for Oakland's failure

"Just retire baby." We all know you need to, but you have got to make the decision yourself. It is best for the Oakland community, the players, the coaches, and the organization. We all know you are looking to provide the city with its fourth Super Bowl win, but they may not see another one of those until years after your lifetime.

"Just Retire Baby" Is Davis the Reason for the Oakland's Faliure? - Bleacher Report

Gee, do you think maybe???????????

And as of now the Raiders are denying that Davis asked Kiffin to resign.

A guy has to know when its time to go...a great Pioneer in the league, a great owner...but he hasn't progressed with the modern era. Still his baby, so how can you expect him to go away.

I'm willing to stay if died (God forbid) or let someone run the team the Raiders would be better off.

Re: Is Davis the reason for Oakland's failure

The Oakland Raiders denied a report Friday that owner Al Davis asked coach Lane Kiffin to resign.
ESPN, citing unidentified sources, reported that Davis drew up a resignation letter for Kiffin two weeks ago, but the coach refused to sign it. Kiffin has two years left on the contract he signed last January.

He definitely is hurting his team more than he's helping it these days, but what are you going to do? It's his team to ruin if he wants.

is it cause he is too "old School"...has he not progressed to embrace the west coast offense (isn't that what Gannon ran though), Cover3, xone-blitz etc...or does he just make lousy player decisions?

Lousy decisions because he has a couple of screws loose somewhere.

Could be. I think its more likely that he's under the delusion that he can bring in a new coach, some new players and instantly win. Not gonna happen.

Re: Is Davis the reason for Oakland's failure

He makes terrible personnel decisions. He brings in players that are nearing their experation date. He hires a head coach and doesn't let him coach or hire who he wants. He thinks he is helping them, but is ruining the team.

Re: Is Davis the reason for Oakland's failure

It's sad to see him stain his legacy like this. He's been killing this team with his poor personnel decisions for years now. The game has definitely passed him by and he's the only one that doesn't know it yet. Lane did a creditable job last year..lets have some stability..bring him back...Even if Davis finally gets out of the way, which he won't..it'll take five years or so to be this team back to contender status...sad...
