No, I dont think so either. He was great for a while, but I think it should be for a longer period of time.
And simon, they arent being considered for the hof, because they (your pats) havent talked about retiring yet.
And the New England tight ends arent undefeated, their team is. The New E. te's just dont match up with Witten.

Re: Warren Sapp Tells Teammates He's Retiring

Let me correct all you who say no

13 seasons
7 Pro Bowls
1999 Def player of the year
A vital role in the Bucs 2002 Super Bowl Championship
He had 96 1/2 career sacks, former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle John Randle is the only interior lineman with more sacks.

Like or hate the man he will most likely be 1st ballot HOF..

Cool Re: Warren Sapp Tells Teammates He's Retiring

I say yes. He was pretty dominant for a long period with Tampa. I'm still pissed that the Jets chose Kyle Brady instead of him in the draft.

I would put him in...maybe not 1st ballot...but if he is not a HOF, neither are half the guys in there now.

Re: Warren Sapp Tells Teammates He's Retiring

I'll remember him best for jawin with Favre. And who can forget that little dance he did one time????
Most of the time when the man talks, I dont quite get what he's saying. Think he is a can or two short of a six pack. But like simon says, that has nothing to do with whether or not he gets into the hof.

Agreed. They had a story on ESPN last night saying he has the most sacks in the time period starting in the 92 season. Only one player has gotten more sacks than him in that time period.

That just seems HOF worthy to me. You can't judge his whole career on the last two or three. He had some really good years in there.

Here is a link to his stats. For some reason, it wouldn't cut and paste her in the right format! And I don't care enough to firure it out!
