A league source tells
Pro Football Talk that, as of Sunday afternoon, the Raiders and the representatives of quarterback JaMarcus Russell had gone more than a week without engaging in any substantive talks on a contract for the first overall pick in the draft. Russell's chances of playing as a rookie are shrinking by the day, and at some point we've got to wonder whether this thing will drag into the regular season. Also, based on what we've heard about the offer that the Raiders have made, we've also got to wonder whether at some point Russell decides to tell his agents to get a deal done or else he'll be making a change in representation.
