It depends. The Titans as a team turned out to be better than the Raiders are. Starting a rookie QB from day one can have negative effects (see Carr, who although he won his debut...the beatings he took due to a poor o-line basically ruined his career)...or, well, has any rookie QB who's started from day 1 done well?
Thinking of recent guys like Manning, Rivers, Big Ben, the Buffalo rookie, the Washington rookie, they all sat for at least a few games before starting.
Of course Peyton started from day one...but let's not compare anyone to him
