Raiders record limits Pro Bowl choices

ALAMEDA, Calif. - Derrick Burgess will have to represent the entire Oakland Raiders' defense when he arrives at the Pro Bowl in Honolulu.

Burgess was Oakland's only player selected for the Pro Bowl on Tuesday, making his second straight on the strength of an 11-sack season.

"It's a blessing to be able to go," he said. "I wish there was more guys on my team going with me which it should be, but I don't make those calls."

Despite a 2-12 record that is tied with Detroit for the worst in the NFL, the Raiders were hoping for more Pro Bowl selections from a defense that has given up the fewest yards passing and fourth fewest total yards in the league this year.

"I don't know what they look at or what they judge," Burgess said. "Us winning would help more. So that's our next thing."

Burgess is a good player and deserves to go, but should more Raiders have gone? They are #4 in the AFC in total yards allowed, after all.
