John Madden vs. Tim Brown

I'm sure most of you Raider fans know all about this, but I recently heard that, about a week ago, former Oakland Raider WR Tim Brown blasted now Hall of Fame coach John Madden, saying that with the talent Madden had, the Raiders should have won several additional Super Bowl titles.

What do you guys think of this? I think anyone that can win 103 games and 7 division titles in 10 years, six of which were 10-win seasons, then I think its safe to say that he's a pretty darn good coach. Now, help me remember, how many Super Bowl titles did the Raiders win with Tim Brown on the roster? How many have they won since Madden retired. Oh, yeah, that's right... it was ZERO! ZIP! ZILCH! NADA!

So what right does Tim Brown have to criticize John Madden?

Re: John Madden vs. Tim Brown

Madden, in my opinion, was the best head coach the NFL has ever had. He didn't coach that long, and although he's Mr. Obvious when commentating on football games, this guy knows football very well, and it's clear, when he's commentating, he knows how to call a game maybe better now than he did then.

He's the one guy I would love to see get back into coaching. He could take a lot a teams and make them better instantly.

Obviously Tim Brown forgot that there were a few teams called the Cowboys, Steelers and Dolphins around the same decade that thought they were pretty good too...It wasn't a case of Madden losing...as one of other teams winning

Cool Re: John Madden vs. Tim Brown

Gotham, right on the mark. And don't forget about that "ORANGE CRUSH" Denver team with Tom Jackson, Gradishar and the rest.

P.S. I was always against the Broncos switching uniform to Navy Blue. Those Bright Orange Jersey's was part of their idendity. Then again, right after they switched unis they won 2 Super Bowls so what do I know?

Re: John Madden vs. Tim Brown

I wonder why Tim Brown would even think to criticize Madden. There must be some kind of personal problem because Tim Brown knows very little about the Era whern Madden coached.
