Raiders-Giants Preview
Since taking over the starting job for the
New York Giants in 2004,
Eli Manning has made 82 straight starts for the third-longest streak among active quarterbacks.
While than run is in jeopardy, it's unclear if it will hamper the heavily-favored Giants this week when they finally play another home game Sunday as their top-ranked defense will match up against the hapless
Oakland Raiders and their league-worst offense.
Manning was held out of practice Wednesday so he can get treatment on his plantar fascia, a band of connective tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot and inserts into the heel.
The former Super Bowl MVP aggravated the injury in last Sunday's 27-16 win at Kansas City and literally had to hop because it so was intense. He's not guaranteeing he will be under center for New York (4-0) this weekend in its first home game since the season opener.
Oakland Raiders vs. New York Giants - Preview - October 11, 2009 - ESPN On paper, the NY Giants should blow the Raiders out of the stadium. Manning may not play and hear this is a game time decision. Does this really matter? Raiders are that bad and getting worse. I heard a recent rumor from my friend in Missouri that head coach of the Raiders may be going to jail. Nothing seems to chance with Al Davis run teams.
Does anybody give the Raiders a shot in this one?
