Frank Thomas Wants To Stay

— The A's have begun preliminary negotiations on a new contract for Frank Thomas, the slugger said Saturday.

Thomas has been one of the best free-agent signings this season, with the A's giving him a $500,000 base salary. However, he has earned an additional $2 million out of a maximum $2.6 million in bonuses and incentives.

"We've talked to the A's," said Thomas, adding that agent Arn Tellem has been negotiating with the team for about a week.

Inside Bay Area - Thomas wants to stay here

id say he has been a pleasant surprise this season

maybe chicago should have held on to him

Thome or Thomas? As good as Frank has been, I think the ChiSox made the right move.

Frank Thomas has been one big surprise this year. I am also shocked that he is signing up for more years at his age and health. But if he continues to whack the balls out of the park, I guess they can still use him. He may become a Julio Franco-type of player.

FRANK THOMAS = HALL OF FAMER?

He is got to be close...+475 HRs, 1500 RBIs ...dominated the 90's with Griffey...right?...In or Out?

Wow one 280 pounder running for another...classic...

Kruk once said, " I am not an athlete, I play baseball for a living."
