A's, Best Team in Baseball?

They sure seem like it in the past couple of of weeks. They just swept the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and have six games upcoming with the Mariners and Royals. They're 9-1 in their past 10 games and have no sense of slowing down.

Sooner than later, they'll get Crosby and Harden off the DL. Seems like they're the team to beat in the AL, especially with the Tigers falling off sorts recently.

The Chicago White Sox are hot too. You might want to check out the brand-new thread posted by Lefty Noob at:http://www.goteamsgo.com/forum/chica...html#post40812

The A's have a great team but we can't get over ourselves, here. A sweep over the Devil Rays is nothing to brag about since it isn't an accomplishment that grants bragging rights to the A's. I think we have to wait and see first before we hand out these special titles.

They aren't going anywhere with that lineup. Crosby is a .230 hitter and Jay Payton is their highest average hitter. They are last in all of baseball in hitting. God bless them if they can hold off the Angels.

Hey legend, I liked Jay Payton when he was with the Mets!

But I must admit that he isn't the same player he used to be.

Payton by the Numbers:.291, 9HRs, 44RBIs, 4SBs.

In a short series, Zito and Harden (if healthy) could be dangerous.

I agree Empire. They have the pitching to win any short series.

Re: A's, Best Team in Baseball?

Their lack of scoring puts alot of pressure on their pitching. Crosby is a .229 hitter, Chavez is hurt and at .241, Swisher and Thomas have 25 homers apiece and only 66 RBI bacuase there is nobody on base, and their catcher has hit 1 homer! hey do play trhe Royals four times this weekend, but they stll have alot of games left with the Rangers and Angels, as well as playing Boston, Chicago, and the Twins. I just don't see them holding on, but as a Yankee fan I hope they do so we can avoid the Angels, if we even make it to the playoffs.

Re: A's, Best Team in Baseball?

The Yankees should make it to the Playoffs this year. The Red Sox have to face some difficult teams down the stretch, and who knows who will finish up on top? Right now, I hope the AL EAST division goes to the Bronx Bombers. The Red Sox can battle the White Sox or the Tigers for the AL Wild Card.
