| Athletics vs. Yankees Amazing game. Marco Scutaro, hitting .050 on the season, hit a three-run homer off Mariano Rivera with two out in the bottom of the 9th to give Oakland an improbable 5-4 win over the Yankees. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it was just the fourth game-winning homer Rivera's given up in his career. The bad news for the Athletics is that Rich Harden left the game with that the AP refers to as "tightness in his pitching shoulder." We'll have to keep an eye on that.
