According to an MLB.com article, the A's have expressed interest in signing Mike Piazza. But if he was to switch leagues, he'd become a DH after 15 years of squatting behind the plate.

"He'd be an interesting fit," A's assistant general manager David Forst told the Marin Independent Journal. "I'd say we are seriously considering him."

Oakland is looking to replace some of the power they lost when Thomas signed with Toronto. Though Piazza won't hit 30+ homers, he'd still drive in runs for a team that had trouble doing so at times last year.

It's just about a done deal. Now Piazza can stop embarassing himself in the field.

Good move for the A's, I think. Piazza has a lot of talent at the plate, and without having to worry about fielding, his numbers could be through the roof. Might be a good fantasy pickup this season... oh, and he might really help Oakland out as they try to win the AL West again, too.
