Rhema McKnight comeback

I was just reading about Rhema McKnight's comeback, and he definitely sounds like a man on a mission. McKnight, you'll recall, missed most of last season with a right knee injury. Now he's back opposite Jeff Samardzija, and the duo should be a couple of great targets for Brady Quinn. What kind of season are you guys expecting out of McKnight? Will he or Samardzija have the better year, statistically?

Re: Rhema McKnight comeback

McKnight should have a monster year, Shark will get double teamed, and Rhema will take advantage early and often. Eventually teams will have to respect him, and then Shark will remind everyone that he is still around. Even with double coverage, a player like Samardzija will have big numbers. It is 2 bad that D.J Hord is gone for the year, but David Grimes and one of the Freshmen will step up.

Re: Rhema McKnight comeback

I think you've hit it exactly! It's ironic that his injury opened the door for Shark in the first place--otherwise it would have been him and Maurice Stovall as starters last year, and if Shark hadn't gotten in we might be thinking of him as only a great pitching prospect. How is McKnight's knee doing--is he fully recovered at this point?

Re: Rhema McKnight comeback

From what I have read McKnight's knee is good to go, and he is on a mission this year. In a press conference Weis said that McKnight was in better shape physically than anyone else on the team going into practice.

Re: Rhema McKnight comeback

Obviously opposing teams can't double cover both guys so one of them should be set for a huge year. Whether it's McKnight or Shark remains to be seen. But both should put good to great numbers on the boards...along with Quinn.
