Ruth Riley and her Detroit Shock teammates are off to a fast start in the WNBA this year--anybody out there watching, or a fan of hers?

Meant to mention that Ruth Riley is probably one of the very few athletes ever who has won a professional championship, a collegiate national championship (Lady Irish--2001?) and also an Olympic Gold Medal. I got a chance to watch the WNBA finals two years ago, and she went head to head with Lisa Leslie and prevailed. Something else, the old Detroit Piston bad boy himself Bill Laimbeer is the coach of the Detroit Shock, so there is a definite Irish connection in the motor city!

Ruth Riley is no where near the dominant palyer she was in college...she's good for a 8 points a game and 5 boards...though at 6'5" she blocks her share of shots...

Hey Gotham Dark Knight. I think it's more like she's surrounded by some great players in Detroit and she does what the team needs her to do on a given night so they can win--yes she is a great defensive player and a tremendous passer, but she can light it up offensively if needed. In the championship game she was unstoppable and did dominate when it mattered most--she was MVP and scored high 20's. Give her her due!
