Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn

Is there a player in college football under more pressure in 2006 than Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn? He's one of if not the top candidate for the Heisman Trophy this season, and national championship expectations surround his team. So, can Quinn survive possible injury and high expectations to deliver another record-breaking season in 2006?

Quinn was lights out in 2005, completing nearly 65% of his passes for over 3,900 yards, 32 touchdowns to 7 INTs and a 158.40 passer rating. He's also had three relatively healthy seasons at Notre Dame, too, which means that the law of averages suggests that he might be due for an injury. I think he is the one thing that has hyped up Notre Dame to being a national title contender. I like the kid...didn't he move off campus because of all the attention he was getting at his dorm?...I would say he probably has gotten used to the mile high expectations by now, and hould do well.

Re: Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn

I think he's going to have a great season, and beyond! Sure he could have foregone his last year of eligibility and turned pro, but look at the positive things he has to gain by returning to Notre Dame: Another year in Charlie's system (Look at what the experience did for a sixth round draft choice named Tom Brady), a possible Heisman Trophy, and a possible National Championship for the Irish. He has a good line in front of him, good receivers, tremendous running back to hand off to, and great coach and staff---it should be win-win!!

Anything less than a Heisman trophy season and a National Championship and this will season be labeled a disappointment, though. That's a hell of a lot of pressure for Quinn to be under, don't you think. Does he have the mental toughness to avoid caving under the weight?

If anyone does it's Brady Quinn.

That is why kids like this go to Notre Dame. College football is much like MLB. It needs Notre Dame to be good like MLB needs the Yankees to be good.
