| The Fighting Irish Defense Can new assistant head coach/defense Jon Tenuta restore some pride to a Notre Dame defense that was just 96th against the run in 2007? According Rivals.com, that is definitely his goal: "Tenuta has forged a reputation as one of the nation's best at scheming and game-planning... In addition to schemes, Tenuta also will bring a mega-dose of attitude, which is needed for an Irish defense that needs a nasty edge." The question is, can he get the job done? Rivals.com College Football - Roof focused on fixing Minnesota defense

Ya, the proof of the pudding is in the eating! The offensive genius, Weis, did well in the NFL as long as he got the signals by half-time. Thus, the highly trouted "Offensive Genius" made exceptional half-time adjustment and we all saw how he did at ND last season without the inside information. My point is, Tenuta will have to show me before I would believe the hype coming out of Weis's camp and his followers concerning Tenuta's ability to quickly turn the defense around for this coming season. |

| Re: The Fighting Irish Defense Not just Tenuta, but Corwin Brown as well. They are both great defensive minds and have the energy and viciousness that is required for a successful defense. D1 i understand that you want to see if he can do it at ND before believing, but Tenuta's track record, especially at G-Tech, is impressive. i have high hopes for Brown even though one of my favorite Irish clips on YouTube is the one where Reggie Brooks gets knocked unconscious just before crossing the goal line. The beginning of that run featured Brown getting pancaked by Brooks. When Brown was introduced to the team as the new D-coordinator last year the players showed that clip in the locker room to razz their new coach. He may have experienced alot of growing pains last year, but i think he learned alot and knows how to apply it. |
