| Pac-10 refs & the Grimes catch Anyone watching the Notre Dame vs. Stanford game? Irish WR David Grimes made an absolutely fantastic TD catch. The ball was overthrown, he never gave up on the play and made a fantastic diving catch. And just as I was about to talk about the great catch, the Pac-10 refs in the replay booth OVERTURN it, saying it hit the ground. Clearly it did NOT. Even the ESPN guys in the booth admit it. Probably the worst officiating call I've seen this year. Took away a sure-fire Notre Dame touchdown! Unbelievable!

| Re: Pac-10 refs & the Grimes catch Given the fact that this isn't the first time the Pac-10 refs have been accused of misconduct, I wonder if the NCAA will do anything? |

| Re: Pac-10 refs & the Grimes catch It was clearly and plainly a catch. Even if you tried to devise a way to say it wasn't a catch, you couldn't honestly say that "irrefutable video evidence" existed to overturn the call. It was a cheat. No doubt. I hope the Pac 10 addresses it. Great catch by that kid. |

| I was there - during the live action, we could see it was a catch. When they replayed it on the big screen, it was confirmed. When the ref's overturned it, the entire ND fans (which appeared to be about 40% of the fans there) erupted in anger & frustration!!. But the call comes from the booth, not the refs. Someone needs to give those refs some High defs TV's & not crappy black & white sets! That was f'n BS. Good thing ND could still pull of a win!! Go Irish!!!! |
