This says it all about Weis

From ESPN.com

"For Notre Dame, it was its school-record fifth straight home loss, another low point in a season of lows. Weis said the 43-game winning streak had no meaning to him or the team.
"They're worried about here and now. These kids are 17. You think they're worrying about 43 years?" he said."

Way to go Charlie - the only thing we had hoped to hold onto this year and you think its nothing.

Re: This says it all about Weis

Weis said much the same thing on NBC, coming off the field. He was asked what the ending of the streak meant to him, and he said something like it just meant the lost a game, and that he didn't care about the past. Weis clearly isn't going to last much longer as the Irish coach - he's rubbing everyone the wrong way, and he's setting all the wrong records.

Forgetting that, Paul Johnson outcoached him, pure and simple. In that third OT, Navy caught the Irish offense napping with that pass, and then completely stuffed the Irish on the two point conversion - twice - to hold onto the win. And what about going for it at the end of regulation instead of kicking the field goal? What the bleep was that all about?

Re: This says it all about Weis

I turned the game on at the end of regulation and assumed the Irish kicker had been knocked out of the game by the Navy goat or something. To not attempt a field goal there was as bad a decision as I have seen. Then the Navy coach winds up having to punt after not taking a knee and waiting for overtime. Weis deserves to go just for his comments about not worrying about the streak, never mind that he may be one of the worst coaches ever.

Ordinarily, I'd think that's hyperbole. I'm not so sure with Weis. He honest to goodness doesn't seem to have a clue out there.

He also has a total lack of talent.

If he has a total lack of talent then explain how most of the teams that are beating ND have never even come close to the Irish's recruiting class ranking for the past ten years. This is regardless of who did the recruiting whether it was Willingham or Weis. This is Weis's thrid year and it is mostly his talent that is on the field. Why did the Irish have enough talent the past two years to do so well. It obviously wasn't due to Weis's development or we would have similiar results this season. The clock is ticking for Charlie! Next season will be the deciding factor.

I don't think they were that talented. However, they had one heck of a QB. I think Brady masked some weaknesses.

Look, I am not a Weis fan by any means, but I really don't see that great of a team out there on the field either.
