Jones sounds like he grew up a little more in acknowledging he handled his decision to leave the Irish program improperly. While he is leaving a poor program presently he did make an accurate assessment of Weis's politics and what was in his own best interests. Like Jones found out, it is just business! Jones made a smart business move that he thinks will provide him with greater opportunities in the futrure than he would have had at ND.
Even though the NCAA attempts to limit players, but not coaches, ability to change jobs, I believe we will see more and more of this because kids want to get on the field and play football regardless of where it is at and because of the lack of coaches' loyalty most coaches have to their players and there sole dedication to their paychecks and winning, which unfortionate I might add is the main goal of most major programs and the main reason they are paid by most universities. Winning=$$$! We have been seeing for years the lack of character many of these top programs have been developing [NOT IN REFERRENCE TO JONES] in the type of recruits they bring in and the results they get both on the field and off. Hopefully, the swing will go back the other way in the future to where football becomes a game in which student-scholars participate as a part of their education and not as a means to an end in making big dollars and I might add, big dollars for everyone else except themselves! Wow, I am getting off this box!!
