| Re: Fire Charlie Wies!!! DUH! You all don't know much of Notre Dame. You all need to go back in history with Lou Holtz and even further back then that. In matter of fact look at coaching in general with Pros and College. The only way a Coach has ever started with a huge success with any team, it is because they came in with the players that the coach that they replaced got them there.
I use to live in South Bend, and when coach wise got to Notre Dame he had a winning season for his first 3 years and that is because of Willingham brought in Brady Quinn. Just like if the Broncos were to win the supper bowl in 2010, it isn't Josh that got them there, it would have really been because Mike Shannahan built the team.
It will take Charlie Wies at least another year or 2 before you can really see how good of a coach he really is. There are to many people that think they know sports when in reality they don't know Bow. Lou Holts wasn't successfull till he was in his 7th year at Notre Dame. Then when Lou Holts left Notre Dame and Bob Davie came in, Notre Dame Alumni wants Championship after Championship. 4 years later Davie out and Willingham is in. Willingham has the best start in Notre Dame history and why is that? It is because Bob Davey recruited them players. 3 years later after 2 years following Willinghams worst start but yet showing improvement, is let go for Charlie Wies. Charlies Wies put in Brady Quinn which was recruited by Willingham and Charlie had his first 3 years of Success.
Now that Willinghams recruiting class is gone and now it is all Wieses recruits it will take at least another year maybe 2 for them all to get into Collegate shape to play at the college level.
If you all would quit looking at the loses and look at the over all picture, you would see that Coach Wies has had a massive improvement from the 2007 season, which was the first season without Brady Quinn. If that isn't good enough then look at this, Notre Dame Destroyed Hawaii in Hawaii. That was the first Bowl victory in almost 10 years. Notre Dame went into that game as Dogs and came out like Lions. Devouring there prey.
For you Charlie Wies haters. You all will be soon saying that they should have never let Charlie go if he leaves after he has won more bowl games with his recruits, because what you all seen in Hawaii is just the tip of the iceberg of what Charlie Wies is going to do with Notre Dame. This is comming from a USC Trojan fan. |
