Notre dame will be another disaster this season. They went 3 - 9 in 2007. 2008 will not be much better. Their coaching staff is pathetic. They can't even beat air force.

I think they will finish 5 - 7 in 2008, and fat a$$ Weis will be forced to leave.

Notre dame TV audience was down 25% last year. Even the yankee catholics and illegal mexicans in New York City have given up watching bad notre dame football. Why would you waste time watching bad college football like the Irish play when you can turn on bowling, soccer, or the jewelry channel which are all way more exciting.


NBC will eventually cancel their contract with Notre dame in the next few years.

Stick a fork in them. They are done.

It just hasn't worked out for the Irish with Weis at the helm. I think it would be in their best interest to find someone else. They have this great recruiting year, and they always do. There is no sense in them having the kind of years they are having. Notre Dame can do better.

I agree, but Weis does have this season to save his job. He's got Jon Tenuta running his defense, so they should be much improved. He's got last year's talented class of recruits with a year of experience under their belts plus a top three class of freshmen this year. Claussen as a sophomore is the starter from day one. The pieces are there... Charlie just needs to put them into place. He hasn't exactly inspired faith in his ability to do that.

This is the year Weis has to produce or he should by let go. If he can't guide this squad to at least a respectful record (6-6), with the Irish's softened up schedule, then he needs to be fired no matter the cost! Just think what ND probably lost in revenue from the poor season last year and it may make sense to buy Weis out---IF HIS LOSING RECORD CONTINUES NEXT SEASON!
