Former Notre Dame placekicker Harry Oliver, best known for hitting a 47-yard field goal to beat the Michigan Wolverines in 1980, has died at the age of 47. Oliver had cancer. "I never heard Harry say a bad word about anybody and you never heard anyone say a bad word about Harry Oliver," former Irish coach Gerry Faust said. "If you want a role model for a person, in the way he conducted his life, Harry was the best."
