Notre Dame has agreed to play two regular-season football games at the Citrus Bowl -- the first in 2011, the second in 2014 -- if the stadium is renovated, Florida Citrus Sports officials said Thursday. But in a telephone interview with the Orlando Sentinel several hours later, a Notre Dame official said his school would consider playing in the Citrus Bowl even if no renovations to the 71-year-old stadium take place. "From our end, I don't know if this thing is absolutely tied to these renovations," said Notre Dame senior associate athletic director John Heisler, who is responsible for the Irish football team's schedule.
