Big-game flop or big-name clone
USA Today - 9 hours ago
Brady Quinn's detractors insist he hasn't answered the call in Notre Dame's biggest games.

His coach, Charlie Weis, has two big-name comebacks for Quinn's critics: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

Weis vouched emphatically for Quinn's intangibles as a winner when asked what a team would be getting in the 6-4, 232-pound quarterback.

"They're going to get a combination of Tommy and Peyton," Weis told Sirius Satellite Radio. "I've heard from at least 20 teams that this was the closest interview they've had to Peyton's ( in 1998 ).

Well, what's the conversion rate, Goth? He'll be under 3/4 of a Peyton but over 1.5 Elis, how about that?

Lets see at 24 Tds a season for Eli that's about 30 tds...and 3/4 of say 30 Peyton Tds is about 23 Tds...the average of which is about 26 Tds...yeah...I think that's about right...

I think the kid will be okay...post plus 20 td seasons and generally win more often then not

But, as is so often the case with QBs... it all depends where he goes.

Quinn Says He Could Fix NFL Franchise
The Casper Star Tribune, WY - 2 hours ago
Brady Quinn already has taken a down-and-out football team and turned it around. He figures he can do it again.

That's why the Notre Dame quarterback believes he is highly qualified to immediately help a troubled NFL franchise _ and why he should be the first Fighting Irish player taken with the opening pick in the NFL draft in 35 years.

"I've been through the adversity. I've gone through losing seasons. I know what it feels like to lose, but I know what it feels like to win," he said. "I know what it's like to go through that transition."

Quinn didn't say it, but he also knows what it's like to try to win when not all the pieces are in place. Quinn played on an Irish team that didn't have overpowering offensive lines and its defense was average at best.

Critics say Quinn couldn't win big games, but it's hard to beat Michigan, Southern Cal or LSU when the three scored an average of 44 points against the Irish last season.
