Re: 2007 Notre Dame Football Schedule

Duke? They play DUKE? Are you kidding me?

So much for that schedule getting tougher. This will do little to quell the criticism the team is receiving over their allegedly weak schedule. I mean... MSU, Boston College, Ga. Tech are fairly strong opponents, and there's always the USC game, but it's shameful that they're scheduling the Blue Devils.

But they'll still rake in tons of money and make a BCS bowl. So who cares what the fans think, right?

Yes this years 2007 is a cream puff schedule but did you see the rating for NDs schedule last year and the years before..forget your bias.....and look at the officiakl rating....yes they played all 3 academies but also M, GT, UCLA USC etc..fair is fair.....but the next year schedule is much easier but the past has not been

Re: 2007 Notre Dame Football Schedule

check out OSU's schedule....... and if we make a BCS game this year with all the new starters we are going to have... we will loose some games we should win and win some we should loose. Low expectations and a young ball club= a fun year to be a fan

GO IRISH!

Re: 2007 Notre Dame Football Schedule

This schedule looks good for a team that is losing many of its key members, Brady Quinn, Jeff Samardjiza, Darius Walker, and Rhema McKnight. I agree, Duke probably wont be much of a challenge, but they need to get into the swing of things with a new QB and HB.

Cool Re: 2007 Notre Dame Football Schedule

For all of you that are ripping on the schedule you must... see the home games. Here is Notre Dames first 8 games of the season.

GEORGIA TECH-home
PENN STATE-away
MICHIGAN-away
MICHIGAN STATE-home
Purdue-away
BOSTON COLLEGE-home
UCLA-away
USC-home

7 out of 8 made it to a bowl game in the 2006 season.
2 top 5 opponents
6 2007 preseason top 25 teams.

How is that a creampuff schedule? That is a crazy tuff schedule. I dont know of any other teams that have to play the caliber of teams that Notre Dame will in 2007 for two months.

Re: Notre Dame football game times announced by NBC

That's the problem, ND lives in the past way too much. Tradition is great and the Irish have lots of it. What they don't have is another Lou Holtz nor present coaching to develop the talent they are getting.

You're teasting aren't you? ND's schedule is so tough that they get their ass handed to them by the Beavers or anyone else they play outside of their carefully chosen schedules (aka. Bowl Games). The one thing that holds true is that they softened up their schedule this year and are continuing to do so in the future. Don't get me wrong, most top programs are trying to do this to assure the bowl eligibility rule of winning 6+ games each year. It's all about the money and the Irish are just trying to continue to get their share. But, don't try to say they have a tougher schedule than any other team in America. Especially, when everyone see how over-rated a number of those on the schedule are such as Michigan from time to time.
