Notre Dame: Big East Tourney bound?

After losing - at home - to Marquette, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's basketball team needs wins at Providence and at home against DePaul plus some help to get into the Big East tourney. Think they can get it done?

Irish have no shot, unless they go REALLY far in the Big East tourney (that includes winning their last two). They also have to win their last two, which would only bring their BE to 6-10. They needed some luck during the regular season and win a few of those close ones they lost. It's unfortunate. They have played better then their record would indicate.

How about a first round, 67-63 loss to No. 23 Georgetown? Not good, right? Senior Brandon Bowman scored 25 for the Hoyas in the win, and Colin Falls had 21 for the Irish in the losing effort. Guess ND's season's pretty much done, eh?

Is anyone else tired of Digger Phelps constant lobbying for Notre Dame? Is it beyond this guy to illustrate even a trace of impartiality?
