Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn has been named one of threefinalists for both the 70th Annual Maxwell Award and 2006 Davey O¹BrienNational Quarterback Award. The Maxwell Award is presented annually to thecollege football player of the year while the Davey O¹Brien Award is awardedto the nation¹s best college quarterback.

Anyone feel that if Quinn misses out on the Heisman, that they may compensate him with the Maxwell or the O'Brien Award?

By the way, how many O'Brien award winners can someone name?...I mean any one can name a slew of Heisman winners...but O'Brien winners...not so much huh?

Brady Quinn has done more with just one receiver capable of playing in the NFL and an average, at best offensive line than any QB in recent history. He also epitomizes what these awards are SUPPOSED to be about and he does it with class, something that has long been forgotten in college sports. Heisman, no. Number 1 draft choice, you bet. I wish that the Colts were there to pick him up.

But the Colts have Manning at his peak...Why draft Quinn to sit out his contract with them?

I want to see someone argue a player who has meant more to his team than Brady Quinn has to Notre Dame. Think about it, without Brady Quinn Michigan and USC would have been ever worse. UCLA and Michigan State comebacks would have never happened. He put up 35 TD passes and 3,278 yards at times all by himself.
