| Brey's terrible at the end Since he's come to ND, the only end of the game play he seems to have is put the ball in the hands of a Chris (Thomas first, now Quinn) and let them throw up a prayer. Nearly every close game this season has ended with a Chris Quinn off-balance runner that bounces away, or a busted play because he couldn't get a shot off.
Chris Thomas took a lot of heat for missing many shots like that in close losses, but this falls on Brey's shoulders. If your team is close time and time again, and giving your best player the ball and letting him try to work some magic has failed repeatedly, wouldn't it make sense to draw up some set plays for those instances? Run some screens for Colin Falls so he can get open when Quinn drives and at least have a good look? A pick & roll? Anything?
It's very frustrating to watch this every game. |
