Notre Dame senior safety Tom Zbikowski has been named a semifinalist for the2006 Jim Thorpe Award, presented annually to the nation¹s best collegedefensive back. Zbikowski is one of 11 semifinalists announced by the JimThorpe Award Screening Committee.

Tom Zbikowski Named Thorpe Award Semifinalist :: Irish senior safety is one of 11 semifinalists.

Zbikowski's a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award? Are you KIDDING me? He's one of the most overrated defensive backs in all of football. He's constantly out of position and his tackling technique is atrocious (doesn't wrap at all). No way he should be up for this award, at least I don't believe so.
