Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn and P Geoff Price were both named awards finalists this week.
Brady Quinn A Finalist For the Unitas Award: "Five senior quarterbacks have been selected as finalists for the 2006 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, presented annually to the nation's top senior collegiate quarterback by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation, Inc... The five finalists are: John Beck, BYU, Kevin Kolb, Houston, Brady Quinn, Notre Dame, Troy Smith, Ohio State and Drew Stanton, Michigan State. These five star quarterbacks were selected by a committee of football experts from across the United States."
Geoff Price Named Ray Guy Award Semifinalist: "Notre Dame senior punter Geoff Price has been selected as a semi-finalist for the Ray Guy Award, which identifies the nation's top Division I-A collegiate punter. Price is one of ten semi-finalists chosen from a list of 47 punters that were originally nominated. Particular emphasis was on the following categories: net average, percentage of total punts inside the 20-yard line, average return yardage, and percentage not returned."
