I kid, I kid... but you have to admit, it does seem like the program has fallen pretty far since the days of Digger Phelps. They're currently 11-10 overall and ranked 14th in the Big East -- 14th! -- with a 2-8 record. At least they've got this kid Quinn (any relation to Brady?). He's leading the team in points, assists and steals.

Any hope for this program to make an impact in the conference any time soon?

Yes, I believe that they can eventually do some damage. If you take a look at their conference losses you will see that quite a few came by a small margin. They are a couple of plays away from being .500.

With that being said they definitely need to get a couple of good players in the upcoming recruiting classes. Come on, it is Notre Dame!! They have a great tradition, good facilities, and a nice campus. But they need to get help if they ever want to compete in the new Big East!
