Notre Dame vs. Navy

The Fighting Irish and the Midshipmen lock horns in what's always a better game on the field than it looks to be on paper. Navy is 5-2 this season, and they always seem to play Notre Dame tough. And on top of that, the Irish have been letting teams stick around this season. They better be careful here, that's all I've got to say. So do you agree? Are the Fighting Irish on upset alert against the Naval Academy?

Re: Notre Dame vs. Navy

Lefty, you're right that the Middies always seem to play the Irish tough. The part that you left out, however, is that they almost always find a way to lose right at the end of the game. I don't see why this meeting should be any different.

Re: Notre Dame vs. Navy

The Fighting Irish win this one, 38-14, against a game but overmatched Navy squad. Quinn tosses 3 TDs and throws for nearly 300 yards, but the Notre Dame D surrenders 299 yards of total offense (272 rushing) to the Midshipmen. So what's your thoughts on this Notre Dame victory?

Not the things that top teams are made of huh?...they have had a few close calls this year, and now lowly Navy rolls +270 on the ground. Over-rated just a tad I think.

Well, this is expected, kind of. Navy always plays Notre Dame tough, even though they've lost 40-something straight to the Irish.

Re: Notre Dame vs. Navy - Recap

Best offensive performance of the season, without a doubt. 471 yards, scoring on their first five possessions and finishing the game without having to punt. Now that's the kind of offensive performance we've been expecting out of the Irish all season long. So what took Brady Quinn and company so long, anyway?
